In a moment of lucidity, the European Union has voted not to allow software patents, at least for the time being. Though how long this will remain so is uncertain.
Music update: Apparently there is a new Delerium album (or EP or something), Poem, out, which features Lisa Gerrard on vocals. (Or so the PolyEster Records newsletter says.)
Australian hit film Chopper is about to be released in the UK, with a US release next year.
Surprise, surprise: A clinical psychologist claims that most celebrities who sell details of their lives to the press may be mentally ill.
A concept whose time has come: Meg from notsosoft.com has a random blog generator. Looks like a Markov-chain "dissociated-press"-type system of some sort, and the layout is a bit basic, though it's an idea worth building on. (Oh, and Meg's blog is worth a look too.)
