Find of the day: MusicKit/SndKit, an Objective C-based sound/music framework that a lot of computer-music types raved about in the NeXT-cube days. It has been ported to MacOS X, though for some reason, it didn't want to actually make any sounds when I tried it. Meanwhile, Apple's CoreAudio classes not only don't have any Objective C documentation, but they don't even seem to have headers yet for a lot of the classes (which do look interesting). Hope they haven't forgotten about us...
Apparently SpamCop are soon to start charging US$36/year for their filtered email addresses. Now may be a good time to code up an adaptive spam filter of one's own.
Interesting site: The Spectred Isle, a list of alleged ghosts and hauntings all over Britain, often with the story behind it (the usual kind of thing; doomed loves, violent deaths and gruesome ends all feature, as in any good ghost story). (via Meg)
Police were called in to the set of the Harry Potter film after props went missing -- and turned up for sale on the Internet. There has been no confirmation of the items having been listed by a certain Northcote-based bookseller.
