The Virgin Top 100 albums is in; not surprisingly, baby boomer acts like the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan dominate, tempered by heavily-marketed 90s alternative (Nirvana, Oasis, Alanis Morissette). There are a few good acts there (The Smiths made the list a couple of times, and The Cure's Disintegration is also on there; My Bloody Valentine's Loveless also makes an appearance, not surprisingly, though I've always thought Slowdive were more listenable.)
