There was a reasonably interesting interview with Robert Smith and
Perry Bamonte of The Cure on 3RRR's Far and Wide programme.
Some interesting things that came up: the mechanical, almost
drum-machine-like drum rhythms on the earlier albums are so because
Lol Tolhurst wasn't a very skilled drummer; the only song on Bloodflowers
that is about the band itself is Maybe Someday, and now that
The Cure are no longer under contract to a major recording label,
they may put unreleased recordings up on
their web site. Should be interesting;
some of the Cure's best material has been B-sides and non-album material.
