The Null Device

I've installed (most of) Netscape 6, and it seems to be working quite well. (And this is under Linux too; looks like I won't need to use VMWare all the time.) A few annoyances: (a) it spews garbage all over stdout (presumably because in this everyone-wants-to-be-like-Windows age, they reasoned that users will be running it from KDE/GNOME, and not using legacy UNIX crud such as xterms); (b) it insists on registering you with AOL/Netscape (anyone know how to make the "Activation" window stop coming up without filling it in), (c) if you turn off loading images, you can't load them later, and (d) what's with that "Print Plus" menu, right under "Print", with links to printer supplies retailers and such? (Mixing advertising and functionality just doesn't sit right; any more than, say, digitally superimposing ads in TV news footage.)
