St Kilda Pier Kiosk destroyed by fire. Is Osama to blame?

It is sad. I heard this on the radio this morning and thought I had dreamed it. When someone at work mentioned it to me tonight, I rushed out to find a newspaper to confirm the story.

You know, it will sound bad, but I never really understood the sadness at losing a landmark, like what was felt by a large number of people in New York on September 11, 2001. Now I understand.

In other news, a woman called me this morning and offered 55$ for a photograph I took of the kiosk three years ago!

Does a 747 have to be flown into a landmark for anyone to care about it's demise?
