MacPaint source code
Apple have just donated the source code of MacPaint to the Computer History Museum
. The code is in two parts: the tip of the iceberg is MacPaint itself, which was written in Pascal and consists of one source file, but the bulk of the code is the QuickDraw library, written in 68000 assembler, which gave the original Macintosh most of its (then groundbreaking) graphics capabilities. And here
is a story of the development of MacPaint.
The source code still belongs to Apple, though may be used for non-commercial purposes. I wonder if anyone has managed to compile it recently.
