Some of the cult material has been mirrored by Wired at

Random synchronicity: the cult leader Do looks a bit like Ray Walston, the
actor who played Uncle Martin in the old TV series My Favorite Martian. Walston
is also known for playing the role of the devil in the film version of Damn
Yankees.
Do's real name is Applewhite; in the film the the devil went by the name of
Applegate.
