The Null Device

There was a reasonably interesting interview with Robert Smith and Perry Bamonte of The Cure on 3RRR's Far and Wide programme. Some interesting things that came up: the mechanical, almost drum-machine-like drum rhythms on the earlier albums are so because Lol Tolhurst wasn't a very skilled drummer; the only song on Bloodflowers that is about the band itself is Maybe Someday, and now that The Cure are no longer under contract to a major recording label, they may put unreleased recordings up on their web site. Should be interesting; some of the Cure's best material has been B-sides and non-album material.
