psychoceramics: Planet alignments, eclipses and the stock market

This person (JPA--@u--.uconn.edu) shows up irregularly in sci.astro
and misc.invest, predicting an imminent stock market collapse predicted by
astrology. Lately he's been posting with a forged From: address that reads
"From: *Spirit Of Truth*" or similar lately.

A year or two ago his posts stated essentially that the full moon caused a drop
in the stock market and a new moon a rise (or vice versa, I forget), then later
solar eclipses would cause a stock crash and war. He predicted that Russia,
the Bosnian Serbs and Iraq would start attacks based on the eclipse. As
"evidence" he pointed out Iraq's invasion of Kuwait was a day or so after a
solar eclipse, and also had a list of bad events and corresponding eclipse
dates. Pointing out that eclipses aren't that rare (there are a minimum of 2
each solar and lunar eclipses every year) doesn't help. Around last Easter he
went nuts, since there was a sequence of a lunar eclipse, a solar eclipse on
Easter Day and another lunar eclipse, all in a month, and that just *had* to
mean something. He predicted a crash. When the stock market took off, he
disappeared, until the next eclipse.

He offers a web page (http://gopher.uconn.edu/~jpa94001), but I haven't looked
at it yet.

His latest is that the alignment of planets and the "Age of Aquarius" will
cause a crash or something. I won't reproduce the latest post as it's rather
long, but it's current on sci.astro and misc.invest. The following will help
anyone interested find it.
