Have been discussing this with some physics friends. The only way to get a blob
is to put a photon detector in front of one slit. You get a blob from the
uncovered slit. If you don't have a detector, you get the lines. Maybe Scott
thought that you should get lines in the photon detector or something. Most
people just can't get to grips with the counter-intuitive logic of modern
physics. Or don't want to.
