Last night I discovered the English translation for the term for Daddy-Long-Legs
(the Crane fly) in four European languages. Here they are:
Dutch - Long legged midge
Swedish - Something in the hair
Italian - Gnat of the vegetable patch
Swiss - Cousin
Not being particularly fond of them myself (to put it mildly), I have to admit
to being unable to understand the Swiss attitude.
