An anonymous author has droplifted a book into bookshops in the West End of London. The book in question, "The Idiocy of Idears" by "schoolboy Gustav Claudius" purported to be the jottings of a dyslexic schoolboy; further investigation revealed it to be an upcoming work by prolific poet, painter and punk rocker Billy Childish, founder of the art movement Stuckism.

"Guerilla artist" Banksy has now branched out into music; he has created a counterfeit Paris Hilton album, and droplifted 500 copies into shops in the UK:

On the cover of the doctored CD, Ms Hilton's dress has been digitally repositioned to reveal her bare breasts; on an inside photo, her head has been replaced with that of her dog.
On the back cover, the original song titles have been replaced with a list of questions: "Why am I famous?", "What have I done?" and "What am I for?"
Instead of Ms Hilton's own compositions, the replacement CD features 40 minutes of a basic rhythm track over which Banksy has dubbed Ms Hilton's catchphrase "That's hot!" and other extracts from her reality TV programme The Simple Life.
I wonder how one would go about obtaining one of these improved Paris Hiltons.

Subversive/"subversive" stencil artist Banksy has done it again; this time he has snuck a piece of artwork into Tate Britain; the piece consists of a found oil painting with police tape stencilled onto it, and is meant to be a protest against how obsession with crime and paedophilia is ruining Britain, or something to that effect. Another version of the painting is being sold in another, hipper, gallery, along with a video of Banksy (in disguise) hanging the piece in the Tate.
